Call to the Quasar

Council Magnate Switch and Dr. Fenix stand at the podium together on H20-3. As the audience settles down, the Magnate begins to speak:

"As some of you know, the Council and Dr. Fenix deployed an elite team to inspect the Quasar at the center of our galaxy. Our ancient lore mentions the Quasar as the focal point of the Fantomons' bond to our realm.

After months of research, our team finally contacted us. As they approached close to the Quasar, the Fantomons grew ten-fold in size, and their tethers to the Quasar began to physically materialize in our realm."

Dr. Fenix steps up:

"The Fantomons bind together our reality. As Ancient Master Mobi explained to me, 'If they exist and thrive, so too do we. Like the energies that bind our souls together, one cannot exist on this plane without the other.'

The tether that a Fantomon manifests when approaching the Quasar appears to be a stream of plasma that fuels their bond to our realm. This is the... good news. Council Magnate Switch would you please explain our situation to these Trainers?"

"As the team approached dangerously close to the Quasar and completed their mission, they struggled not to be torn apart by the pull of the black hole. But the Quasar was the least of their worries. The last we heard from them was this recording."

------------ Back on Captain Infinity's ship -------------

"Captain Infinity here. Our mission is complete! The ship is intact and we are with pulling away from the Quasar now. Mystic Fin noted that the Fantomons remain invigorated even as we pull away!

What's this... another ship? It can't be! There hasn't been anyone else out here for our entire trip. And right as we are about to leave? Is that a Fantomon chained up in front of the ship!?"

The intercom came to life:

"This is Ancient Ent Master Tin. We intercepted your communications. Toying with the fate of the universe isn't a game for children. We will be boarding your ship and taking your research and your Fantomons. If you resist, our Relixia will tear you to pieces."

"Master Tin!?" Fin whispered, "He hasn't been seen since Mobi reemerged to lead the Ent Council.... We cannot let him have our research. And look at that poor Relixia chained up. What would he do to my beloved Jixpi?"

The Captain activated the intercomm. "That's going to be a negative Mister Tin man. You have no right to board our ship. Let's come to a peaceful solution here."

Without another word from the intercom, the Relixia began approaching the ship with with a look of pain and bloodlust in its eyes.

Infinity realized he was still recording his report to Magnate Switch and Dr. Fenix....

"As you may have just heard, some 'Master Tin' is threatening to board our ship. He has an angry Fantomon approaching us - Is that... is that our Jixpi? How did it get out there?"

-----------------------------------------------------------

The recording ended with a series of thumps, crashes and screams followed by static. The Magnate concluded his speech:

"If there is any chance that our team and their research survived this attack, we must retrieve them. We call on our most elite Trainers! Bring your Fantomons to the Quasar, let them strengthen their bond to our realm, and report back any information you find on your trip."
